Description of the problem:
Hello,
I recently did a fresh install of 8.04 Hardy Heron on a
Computer : Hp Compaq dc 7700p
Processor: Intel Core 2 duo 6400 @ 2.13GHz
Graphics Card : ATI Radeon X1600 RV530
Monitor : dual desktop (Big screen )

OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: Radeon X1600 Series
     OpenGL version string: 2.1.7415 Release

I remote desktop in to a Windows XP Laptop. I am automatically logged out some times when i log in to the Windows XP computer ... If it gets thro'... it logs out some times during a mouse wheel scroll event ... if i disable compiz the problem goes away .. so it seems to be in Compiz + rdesktop combination.

i use rdesktop -g2800x1020 computername command

please let me know if you need more information ...

Thanks

Problem seems to be related to compiz as the user indicates. He is using a dual core processor and that may be part of the problem too. Anyone care to check dual core compatibility?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
