Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org-presentation-minimizer

Trying to compress an openoffice impress presentation with the minimizer has two possible results:
1) If I choose "apply to the same document", the Minimizer tells it reduce the size of the file from x to y. But if I control it at console level, the file itself isn't touched from the minimizer

2) If I choose "copy document first", openoffice imidiately crashes. On Console there is the following error:
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::container::NoSuchElementException

I am using Ubuntu 8.04, openoffice and the minimizer both installed from ubuntu hardy sources.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I tried recreating this using the presentation minimizer in the -proposed repository for Hardy Heron, package version 1.0+OOo2.4.1-1ubuntu1, but was unsuccessful. Could you also test the package in the -proposed repository and report back your results? Thanks in advance.

Sun Presentation Minimizer 1.0+OOo2.4.1-11ubuntu2.1 is crashing OpenOffice.org 1:2.4.1-11ubuntu2.1 on my up-to-date Ubuntu 8.10 distro (upgraded from 8.04) with the same error:

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::container::NoSuchElementException'

Let me know if I can make further tests to help.

ycopin,

Does the presentation manager 3.0.0-6ubuntu0intrepid1 in the openoffice-pkgs ppa crash for you as well?

Thanks,

Chris Cheney

I have the same (or similar) problem in Karmic. Choosing the option "Apply changes to current presentation" and clicking "Finish" seems to work -- after saving, the file size is reduced. But if I instead choose the option "Duplicate presentation before applying changes", openoffice.org immediately crashes.

Version details:
OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 OOO310m19 (Build:9420)
openoffice.org-core 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1.1
openoffice.org-presentation-minimizer 1.0+OOo3.1.1-5ubuntu1.1

Running on 64-bit Karmic. uname -a output:
Linux 2.6.31-21-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 24 07:28:27 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
