Bug Description
Using Ubuntu 8.04 LTS,
compiz: 1:0.7.4-0ubuntu6
update-manager: 1:0.87.27
openoffice.org: 1:2.4.0-3ubuntu6
firefox: 3.0~b5+
When minimizing some applications, the child windows don't minimize with it. I expect that they should minimize too as that was the behavior in metacity & the previous compiz. Besides, it's kind of hard to figure out how to remove that child window from your screen, without closing it, because it doesn't have a minimize button. I did not see this behavior in Gutsy 7.10.
Example:
Open office:
1. launch OOo Word Processor
2. Press F11 to show styles
3. Minimize writer
4. Notice that the styles & formating child window is still there
Update manager:
1. launch update manager
2. click check
3. minimize update manager
4. Notice that the child window is still there
Firefox w/ compiz:
2. click Help->About
3. notice that it minimizes **both** the application and the about window.
Firefox w/o compiz but using metacity:
2. click Help->About
3. try to minimize Firefox and it minimizes it but the about window is still there. About window is unminimizable while it was when using compiz.
Thank you for working on this bug, in your free time =).

Reproducible here too. In fact trying to close the child window (e.g. styles in OO) results in OOWriter maximising again.
Setting the bug to confirmed.
