Mixer settings not saved on restart?

Bug Description

after setting Line In preferences on the Capture section,to switch OFF the
volume of microphone,....
when I restart the PC it switches it back on again.

The same problem with an Audigy2 card on dapper.

maybe i should add that here the 'master', 'surround', 'center', 'lfe' and 'side' volumes are reset to 0 after restart.

My problem is fixed in alsa 1.0.10-1ubuntu7 but it was probably not the problem of the original bug reporter.
