Bug Description
Binary package hint: kile
Kile, when installed under Ubuntu (Hardy Heron), has its standard configuration options set. For instance, the ViewPDF actions jas its command set to "kpdf", the ViewDVI actions has its command set to "kdvi", and so on. However, the Kile package does not depend on the packages that contain these programs, so the effect is that if somebody installs Kile, many of the buttons in the IDE will not work.
As a solution to this problem, one of the following two ought to be adopted:
1. The Ubuntu package of Kile should depend on the relevant other KDE packages,
2. The Ubuntu package for Kile should come with other configuration options preset; for instance "evince" instead of "kpdf".
Personally, I would suggest that the second solution is the better one, since it provides for nicer integration into the desktop as a whole.
I think since Kile is a KDE program, it would make more sense to have it default to using Okular rather than Evince. I think Okular replaced KPDF and perhaps KDVI as well.
