It always gave a "Forbidden" error message when attempting to register. I was able to connect with Twinkle and with sipsak. After some wiresharking and experimentation I discovered that this was because Ekiga was putting double quotes around the nonce count field of the Authorization header (e.g. nc=3D"00000001") whereas the other clients were not (e.g. nc=3D00000001). Apparently the extra quotes caused this particular SIP server to reject the registration with a "403 Forbidden". This bug already appears to have been fixed in libopal's upstream SVN (see http://www.opalvoip.org/websvn/comp.php?repname=3DOpal&path=3D%2F&compare[]= =3D%2Fopal%2Ftrunk%2Fsrc%2Fsip@19230&compare[]=3D%2Fopal%2Ftrunk%2Fsrc%2Fsi= p@19241). But it would certainly be nice to pull the fix back into intrepid. I'm currently in the process of uploading a package with the fix to my PPA. --===============0747042792219989897== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Author: David Gibson (dwg) Date: Sat, 15 Nov 2008 07:02:15 -0000 Message-Id: <20081115070215.6773.2938.malone@gangotri.canonical.com> Fixed package is now ready in my PPA. With this installed I'm able to connect to NodePhone with Ekiga and make calls. --===============0747042792219989897== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Author: David Gibson (dwg) Date: Mon, 24 Nov 2008 10:21:10 -0000 Message-Id: <20081124102110.22892.14962.malone@potassium.ubuntu.com> --===============0747042792219989897== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Author: Martin Pitt (pitti) Date: Tue, 09 Dec 2008 19:55:08 -0000 Message-Id: <20081209195508.11756.49424.malone@gandwana.canonical.com> Fixed in Jaunty's 3.4.2. --===============0747042792219989897== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Author: Martin Pitt (pitti) Date: Tue, 09 Dec 2008 19:59:52 -0000 Message-Id: <20081209195952.5410.94084.malone@palladium.canonical.com> Sponsored to intrepid-proposed. --===============0747042792219989897== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Author: Martin Pitt (pitti) Date: Wed, 17 Dec 2008 07:38:53 -0000 Message-Id: <20081217073853.22684.22327.malone@potassium.ubuntu.com> Accepted into intrepid-proposed, please test and give feedback here.
