Broken package apache2-prefork-dev in Intrepid x64

Bug Description

I'm trying to run the installer 'passenger-install-apache2-module' which itself is installed by 'gem install passenger' a
Ruby on Rails module for apache (mod-rails).

It reports that Apache 2 and Apache 2 Development Headers are not installed. Apache 2 (apache2-mpm-prefork) installs ok but the Apache 2 Development Headers (apache2-prefork-dev) fails to install suggesting the package is broken. This is on an x64 Intrepid install. I have a very similar setup on an x32 Intrepid install and it installs fine. Here is the error I get:

sudo apt-get install apache2-prefork-dev

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
apache2-prefork-dev: Depends: libaprutil1-dev but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

I just installed apache2-prefork-dev, including libaprutil1-dev, on my Intrepid 64. It went just fine.

What does apt-get say if you tries to install libaprutil1-dev directly? Have you added any third party repositories? What files has gem placed where on the system?

It seems to be fixed in proposed. I just added proposed to sources and apache prefork installed fine.

Thanks,

Glad the problem is solved for you.

It just wasn't thanks to any new versions of apache2(-prefork-dev) in -proposed, since there weren't any.

Not sure what your problem was, but since it wasn't directly related to apache2-prefork-dev I'll mark this bug as invalid. I guess it could simple have been some kind of hickup in your apt database.
