Bug Description

Binary package hint: partman-auto-lvm

RELEASE: Jaunty
CD/DVD VARIANT: i386 alternate cd
ISO BUILD: 20090223

SYMPTOMS: On the screen to set the size of the LVM partition it should read 250 GB but actually reads -12-1

CAUSE:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1/ Get a machine with a 250 GB drive in it
2/ Get the daily iso
3/ Install an lvm install
4/ On the set size page note the size is -12-1 not 250 GB

busybox printf's error message here was peculiarly unhelpful: in response to a missing argument that caused it to attempt to format "." with %i, it simply printed "." to standard error, without even a trailing newline. This confused me for a while.

(And furthermore busybox printf fails to exit non-zero as required by the standard.)

Hmm, only arguably required perhaps. I could read the standard text either way.

  * Remove "Please try again" from templates, per Christian Perrier.
  * Talk about "Amount of volume group" rather than "Amount of disk space",
    per Frans Pop.
  * Strip leading whitespace from output of 'vgs' (LP: #333349).
