Bug Description
Gnome-screensaver does not seem to have DPMS support,
leaving the monitor on unnecessarily.

power management is handled completely in gnome-power- manager, the dpms off settings are found in system- >preferences- >power management
(path might differ i have no english install around)
or in the preferences of the battery icon in the notification area in case you use a laptop
