Spurious reboot during hard disk device access

Bug Description

I just installed kubuntu dapper F5 on my external Maxtor Onetouch harddisk.

But when I wanted to reboot into my system, first it stopped while saying "Setting up lvm vol group" and rebooted after showing some information about my harddrive(/dev/sda)

The next time, and ever since, it has been doing the same thing, except now it has just been after "Starting enterprise volume managent"

It worked fine on Flight 4 and the only difference I made was the first time I unplugged my /dev/hda while installing on /dev/sda

I tried to install again, but with the /dev/hda unplugged, and it worked. So problem is apparently only if I install with my /dev/hda plugged in. I will try to see if I can get the same result again.

Pascal, can you post the tests results? So we can confirm (or close this bug?)

Thanks.

How are the internal and external disks connected? I assume the external is either USB or Firewire, but what is the chipset of the internal drive?
