Bug Description

In Kubuntu dapper Flight 5 (livecd):
There is no option for renaming a network folder in system:/remote when you right click on the folder. If you know the F2 button you can rename it.

Same thing here, running kubuntu dapper with latest updates.

The other bug is that you can attempt to rename the default links ("Samba Shares", "Network Services") there using F2, but they cannot be renamed an error pops up. F2 shouldn't let you rename them in the first place, but I can see how that may be problematic to implement considering the universal use of F2 to rename any icon in konqueror.

This is probably more like kdebase than kubuntu-meta :-)

System:/remote no longer exists on feisty, so it must have been moved. Can you still replicate this problem at wherever its new location is?

Confirmed on Feisty
It's called remote:/ now and it behaves the same way as the former system:/remote

Ok, I can see that being the case. The sort of 'meta-links' there, for Local Network, Samba Share, etc, are unable to be named, so maybe that's why it doesn't let you rename the folders you've manually added. The trick then, is to get the remote:/ ioslave to differentiate between those links to other ioslaves and the shares you've manually accessed and allow the appropriate folders to be renamed through the context menu.

Renaming works through F2, but is not available through the context menu. It is however available both ways in konqueror 4.0.

All of these issues have been fixed in Konqueror 4.0.83 in Kubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid)
Thank you for your support of Kubuntu and KDE!
