Thanks for your bug report.

It sounds like http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332640

Which version of x-g are you using?
Do you have this bug with xchat too?
Could you try with a fresh user?

xchat works fine
same problem with a fresh new user

(I'm used to debian's bugreport, sorry for the bad report)

It's a very strange bug.
We need more information to be able to reproduce it.

Have you this bug with all channels on all servers ?
Do you try with another nick ?
It will be fine to find some cases where this bug doesn't occur. :)

I've tried with a fresh new user with a new nick.
I'll try on a different machine today.

For informations, nobody around me can reproduce that bug.
Please provide version of xchat-gnome
Please remove all pluggins
Please remove all xchat configuration (~.xchat2\)
Please upgrade all packages or better do a clean/fresh install of dapper beta2
Please use human theme.

And try to reproduce the bug.

Guillaume, I've read the upstream bug, I was just trying to make sure people on that bug use the same locale

According to upstream that should be fixed with the new version, corresponding upload to edgy:

 xchat-gnome (1:0.13-0ubuntu1) edgy; urgency=low

   * New upstream version, UVF granted by Colin Watson:
     - Add the ability to auto-join keyed channels (Ubuntu: #29856)
     - Add the red-line unread indicator (Ubuntu: #30642)
     - Lots and lots of major bug fixes
     - Fix a crash when saving transcript without current session
       (Ubuntu: #52692)
     - Fix crasher when using /server <servername> (Ubuntu: #45312)
   * debian/control.in:
     - Build-Depends on libssl-dev instead of libssl0.9.8 (Ubuntu: #52746)
   * debian/patches/03_autoconf.patch:
     - updated

Feel free to reopen if it doesn't fix the issue for you

closing the xchat-gnome task. If you have a translation issue please deal with the translation team for your locale or bug upstream, having translation bugs against the package creates overwork to maintainers where translators should be in the loop
