Hotkeys on Acer notebooks

Bug Description

The following hotkeys don't work:
-user definable button
-Acer eManager
-Launch Internet
-Launch Mail
the keycodes are the following from the output of
sudo showkey -u:
0xe0 0x71
0xe0 0xf1
0xe0 0x74
0xe0 0xf4
0xe0 0x32
0xe0 0xb2
0xe0 0x6c
0xe0 0xec

for the four buttons, respectively.
The hotkey setup doesn't recognize these keys at all.

The Mail and Internet codes produce standard key-codes, so should now work; We already map e074 to KEY_PROG1 or KEY_MAIL depending on the model of Acer, can you confirm that this is the wrong way around and should instead load the power-settings?

Can you also confirm which of the Fn-Fx key combinations work and what keycodes they produce if they don't currently work?

As it stands, this needs a match against the full "Aspire 1640" with e071 -> KEY_PROG1 and e074 -> KEY_???

Sure.
0xe0 0x71
0xe0 0xf1
is for the "P" button - the user programmable button
0xe0 0x74
0xe0 0xf4
stands for the "e" button - Acer eSettings.
(the mail button is
0xe0 0x6c
0xe0 0xec)

However, I discovered lately that everything works correctly with the
program named hotkey - I'm not sure whether the managing of keyboard
definition files for this package is your 'task' or not. If you are
interested, I could send my version of this config file.
