Latest update breaks several apps

Bug Description

There was an update to libcairo in mid-late March, to 1.0.2ubuntu1.1. This version causes several apps, such as firefox and evolution, to occasionally (but consistently) die on displaying some content, with the error "evolution: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2: undefined symbol: FT_GlyphSlot_Embolden".

Downgrading libcairo to 1.0.2-0ubuntu.1 fixes the issues.

Submitter. Is this a Breezy install? libcairo should be libcairo2 now? Thank you.

Sorry - yes, this is a Breezy install, and it is libcairo2 that breaks things for me (I don't have libcairo installed at all).

Is this still a problem in breezy? Which version of libfreetype6 do you have installed?

No idea about breezy; I've upgraded to Dapper and now have no problems anymore.

Sorry I can't help track this further.
