In response to Dave Lentz response, 'Indian Art, if you are using the version of OpenOffice.org from the Ubuntu repository, please report that information and re-open this bug.'
I sorry Dave, I am a non-technical person. I don't know how to do that. However, I think I am using the version of OpenOffice.org from the Ubuntu repository. I followed the SoftPedia's artcle instuctions. Anyway, the Help tab of OpenOffice (About OpenOffice.org) also states this is an 'distribution by Ubuntu'.

In response to VladNistor I am posting the output of apt-cache policy openoffice.org.
:~$ apt-cache policy openoffice.org
openoffice.org:
  Installed: 1:3.1.0-1ubuntu1~jaunty1
  Candidate: 1:3.1.0-1ubuntu1~jaunty1

        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     1:3.0.1-9ubuntu3 0
        500 http://in.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages

Hope this helps,
Thanks! Keep up the good work.

I can confirm this bug.

But the problem is with the 3 commands that should link to the internet: "get help online" / "translate this application" / "report a problem". None of them does anything.

my system parameters are:

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04
Codename: jaunty

openoffice.org:
  Instalados: 1:3.1.0-3ubuntu2~jaunty1
  Candidato: 1:3.1.0-3ubuntu2~jaunty1
  Tabla de versión:

This is not a paper cut because it is not a general usability issue, but rather a bug affecting a relatively small user population.

I can confirm this fix on a i386 live cd from today ( August 6th 2009 ). All three functionalities, Get help Online, Translate this Application and Report a problem do what they are suppose to do.
