There are some changes I made: Debian- source for example). I left the repackaging as-is and kept the debian files to make a smaller delta.
* Debian disabled the ability to download plugins and ships them all as part of the package for security reasons. So I updated the Ubuntu patch that renames /usr/lib files to /usr/share to include the plugins and look in /usr/share for them.
* Some previous ubuntu releases did not repackage the upstream tarball like Debian does (to drop the upstream's debian/ directory). When the ubuntu releases did that, they tended to drop lots of debian files talking about the repackage (README.
