Bug Description

make jpg File of the dimension 6556x99 Pixels and place ist in the directory ~/Templates.

If you restart nautilus, it will eat up all CPU.

Actually the thumbnail of the JPG is shown correctly if it's in another directory !

Copying the JPG File to the directory ~/Templates results also in eating 100% CPU after copying the file (But copy File to another locations works perfectly !)

This did not happen in Ubuntu Breezy but happens in dapper (upgraded from breezy). I could reproduce this behaviour on a colleagues laptop (Ubuntu dapper also).

Nautilus is Version 2.14.0, in Ubuntu dapper System which is up to date.

Do not hesitate to contact me, if you have further questions.

Thank you for your bug. Does making a jpg template makes sense? That directory is for the context menu "new document" action. Anyway it should not eat that much cpu if standard preview is fast, I've forwarded it upstream: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337607

Actually I did'nt know about this directory beeing used for special purposes. I had a subdirectory in ~/Templates, where I stored original jpg's used for presentation templates etc.

Duplicate of http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134544 upstream which got a patch waiting for review from the nautilus maintainers now
