kcontrol does not update display information

Bug Description

Installed Kubuntu Dapper Flight 6.

The installer got xorg to use a vesa driver, instead of the proper i801 module.

I ran

% dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

and got Xorg to load the proper module, but kcontrol -> Hardware -> Display -> Hardware, still says I'm using "vesa" as driver and running at the wrong settings.

/var/log/Xorg.log.0.log shows clearly that that is not the case anymore.

Good morning,

I noticed the last comment was a request for more information on 2006-05-04 and I am wondering what the status of thsi bug is? Are you still having problems with KControl and updating display information? If you are can you please make sure your computer is up to date on either Edgy or Dapper and then update this bug?

I am the original submitter of the bug (does that matter? :-)).

I haven't had problems with it with Edgy or Dapper. As far as I can
tell this bug is fixed.
