Bug Description

my computer suddenly goes into suspend (S3) mode without any warning at random times
it can happen when i use the computer, or i don't, sometimes it never goes to suspend mode even when the timer is set and the time passes with no activity.
sometimes (rare, but happens) when i go out of hibernation, as soon as the computer boots up and finshes loading, i don't even have time to click anything, and it goes to suspend.

computer is an old Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo V2020
using ubuntu 8.10

here are some log files if hey are of any help:
(i didn't see any error)

Hi Fabio, thanks for the concern!
I now installed Ubuntu 10.04.
Symptoms have changed:

1) Computer enters suspend mode when switching to / from battery, meaning every time i connect or discinnect the power cord.

2) on resume, display stays off.

I don't nderstand if you want me to report this bug as a new bug or update this bug.
