Bug Description

win32-image-writer 0.2-r23 on Windows XP SP3 isn't able to open files that don't end with .img. I wanted to write a hybrid .iso file (a iso that works both on CDs as well as on USB thumb drives) to a usb drive and wasn't able to select it. It would be nice to be able to choose * as filetype. The image I tested this with is http://chaox.net/~jens/livecd/chaox-2009.7.iso

Workaround:
Rename fileextension to .img

Still not even acknowledged as a bug? Come on, this is a quick fix.

+1 for *.* option.

A similar kind of software which is popular in Japan uses *.ddi ("Disk Dump Image") as its default (but also accepts *.*).
So I sometimes want to read *.ddi with Image Writer for Windows.

NB. even Windows' notepad.exe accepts *.* along with its default *.txt :-)

I've added this to the wishlist. Not sure when it will be implemented, but having a list of requested features is good motivation to update the program.

It would be great to have this ability to select any file *.*, now I have similar issue when I try to write MeeGo .raw file to USB disk.
