Settings gnome-panel full opaque fails

Bug Description

When I try setting 'Solid color' and 'Style: Opaque (full)' on the 'Background' tab with gnome-panel properties I get this message:

A programming error has been detected

Details:

    style.bg_pixmap[gtk.STATE_NORMAL] = pixmap
TypeError: can only assign a GdkPixmap or None

Gnome Panel version: 2.14.1
Ubuntu version: Dapper upgraded on 29.04.2006
