Bug Description

Using UEC 20090929 beta candidate on UEC cloud.
Bundling the amd64 image with local kernel and ramdisk works.
Bundling it with uec-images-published kernel and ramdisk fails (see get-console-output log).

I'm sure that we can get this fixed. Theres just some thing different in the initramdisk created in the chroot with the -virtual flavour of the kernel and on with the -server flavour on real hardware. It seems more likely to be the -server/-vritual difference to me.

We'll get this fixed soon, but not for beta.

It appears that the issue here is that -virtual does not include sym53c8xx.ko
 ('kernel/drivers/scsi/sym53c8xx_2/sym53c8xx.ko).

This is the hardware that kvm presents as scsi if booted with such as:

kvm -drive file=file,if=scsi,bus=0,unit=6

Needs sym53c8xx.ko in debian.master/sub-flavours/virtual.list, will have a build test shortly.

Marking vm-builder task invalid, as per comments the only fix needed was in the kernel

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-lucid' to 'verification-done-lucid'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!
