Bug Description

Hi, appart from bugs #38574 and #25653 which prevent me to sync, libbackup_conduit.so seems to have a problem :

(gpilotd-control-applet:8972): libgpilotdcm-WARNING **: unable to g_module_open (/usr/lib/gnome-pilot/conduits/libbackup_conduit.so), reason /usr/lib/gnome-pilot/conduits/libbackup_conduit.so: undefined symbol: gnome_pilot_conduit_backup_get_type

this happens on Dapper-to-date-to-today, whith these packages :

gnome-pilot-conduits 2.0.13-0ubuntu3
gnome-pilot 2.0.13-0ubuntu16try1
libgnome-pilot2 2.0.13-0ubuntu16try1
pilot-link 0.11.8-17

Note that this is Daniel Holbach's version of gnome-pilot, but this happens with Dapper's stock gnome-pilot too (exactly the same error message).

note; I never had this personally until I started playing with sync (worked once out of the box, then broke, then I started playing)

I find that this comes up when gpilotd is run on the commandline, and I try to Enable one of the conduits through gpilotd-control-applet

(Seems currently limited to Backup. When I was running with no gpilotd, it seemed to affect also the file and test conduits)

In gpilotd-control-applet, the error is: Unable to instantiate (Backup) conduit.

It means I cannot change the settings for the conduit, but does not have an effect on it working.

Hope it helps

This actually helps:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libgpilotdconduit.so gpilotd-control-applet

But it is a workaround, it cannot be recommended as a regular solution

For me, I had to use:
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libgpilotdconduit.so.2 gpilotd-control-applet
(new install of dapper)

A new version (2.0.14) was uploaded to Edgy. It'd be nice if you had a chance to test this and report back, if the problem still persists.

Seems to be ok for me.

Does that mean that it's fixed in Edgy for you?

Yes in edgy. Yes it is fixed - gpilotd-control-applet deals with conduits ok.
