Bug Description

Binary package hint: xchat-gnome

Using Dapper, last updated a few days ago.

The appearance of the notification alert popup's were changed in a recent build. These new notifications do not respect which monitor I am running xchat-gnome on - they always appear on my first monitor (screen 0) instead of the monitor I am running xchat-gnome on. The old style notifications in xchat-gnome behaved correctly.

The user list that appears when you click the "X Users" at the bottom left of the window has the same problem.

This was working correctly in earlier Dapper builds, it changed in the last week or so I think?

xchat-gnome didn't change, reassigning to notifcation-daemon

what do you call "old style notifications"?

The old style were grey/white ; now they're yellow/orange and smaller text.

I don't know the right way to see when xchat-gnome was updated, but

 ls /var/cache/apt/archives/xchat-gnome* -al
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 511440 2006-05-15 21:08 /var/cache/apt/archives/xchat-gnome_0.11-0ubuntu5_i386.deb

Would suggest it was updated in the last week?

Please also note my comment about the user list - surely that is not related to notification daemon.

Last upload doesn't change anything about the notification or the userlist.
You can see this kind of information in /usr/share/doc/xchat-gnome/changelog.Debian.gz

so that's an xorg bug, the upload from previous week is a trivial fix for session storage, there is no code changed from xchat-gnome that could create that for weeks now

Is it possible at all to reproduce this without runing multi-head?

My guess is that no, but maybe we could get some folks with multi-heads to do some testing for us over one of the next hug days?
