Need for a shorter application list

When I load the list of translatable applications, it's very long to load, even with high bandwidth, it's very very long to sort (my browsers warn me several times about a blocking script), it's pretty unusable and hard to find my way into.

This list is at https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+lang/fr (change for your own distro and language).

What I'd like, is to find on this page a short list of categories:
Desktop, Help, Command line, Development, etc.. sorted by translation importance, so we could focus on applications for inexperimented users, and keep translations for administrators, developers, people who should know english.

It may too give us other ways to sort applications, just like KDE, Gnome, Xfce, Date of coming in Rosetta...

When reading bug list for Rosetta, i've seen something about filtering in Rosetta being developed, but couldn't find useful information.
