Bug Description

Up-to-date Kubuntu Dapper

I wanted to install new sun-java5-bin package with Add/Remove Programs and installation stops at 20% of "Preparing installation".
I can only select Show Details to display this:

I suspect it is the issue of interactive pre/post install script.

I will try regular adept now.

Confirmed here with regular "Adept", except I can see the full text.
By the way, adept stops responding and doesn't work anymore unless /var/lib/dpkg/lock is manually removed.

Confirmed - this is marked as Major as we can expect most of the users to install Java sooner than later...
