Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem-xine

I installed totem-xine on a fresh xubuntu 6.06 system today. It freezes completely on execution.

If run from a terminal it gives the error:
/bin/sh: /usr/bin/esd: No such file or directory
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0xb12c7008 ***

The window remains visible but completely blocked to user input.

Sebastien, can this bug be closed?

I shouldn't think so - we didn't have upstream code imported since 2006-07-18.

According to the GNOME bug the corresponding fix has that commit message:

"revision 1.30
date: 2006/07/17 18:31:24; author: hadess; state: Exp; lines: +9 -4
- avoid crashes when init_yuv_planes has one of its allocations failing
  See http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338833"

As written by Daniel there is no new version to Ubuntu so it's likely to not be fixed yet

in this case, I'll reassign to totem-xine and set the status accordingly.

there was some miscommunication, I identified the patch in the upstream cvs, and applied it to my package branch. still testing it.
