capture menu / tooltip doesn't work with hardy (ubuntu 8.04)

This is due to a bug in 'get_clipbox' - Gtk2::Gdk::Region. This method was not used in older versions of Shutter. It is a bug in the perl bindings of gtk2, see:

There is no way to get the bug fixed in hardy, so I think I'll have to re-implement the method to work around this bug.
