Font is blue when going into console mode

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop

When I log out of Kubunu 6.06 and select "go into console mode", the font of the console is blue. When I switch to another terminal and back the font is white.

This is very unlikely to be related specifically to Ubuntu. Moving up to Linux meta until we get more information.

Reporter, could you please tell use informations about your graphic card, and computer hardware in general?

It´s not always reproducible but occurs only sometimes.
My graphics card is a nvidia geforce 6600gt, but since the problem is in console mode I doubt it´s hardware-related.

That can still be related to hardware. "Leftovers" in video memory can do weird things when switching from graphic mode. I have not seen the specific symptoms you speak about though.

I'm not sure where to route that bug though.

I'm assuming you are using the proprietary nvidia modules. As such, the "blue" is likely caused by artifacts in the Xorg driver not cleaning up the video card's memory correctly.

If you are not using the proprietary nvidia drivers, then this belongs in xorg. The kernel doesn't handle Xorg leaving video in a bad state.
