Bug Description
i have tried to burn a data dvd (.avi files) using both graveman and by just inserting a dvd and using the 'CD/DVD creator'.
in graveman it goes through the process of burning the dvd (it took a couple of hours which seemed a bit long). then at the end of the process it says that the dvd has been created sucessfully (or whatever the positive message is) but when i tried to read the dvd it was unreadable (my partner has a Mac with OSX which could not read it either).
so then i decided to try dapper's creator but it won't begin the process. it says i should insert a valid disc (i'm using DVD-r, but on the list is only DVD-rw)
but i know my burner is capable of DVD-r's because i have used them before.
i am using dapper drake, and have the (most-all) restricted formats installed and turned the DMA on so that DVD playback wouldn't be choppy. that is all i can think of that would could have affected the drive.
cheers,
bradley.

i also can't read data dvds that were burnt on XP (the discs work on XP so it isn't a problem with the disc).
either the disc won't mount of if it does the data stored on it is unavailable. (if i try to copy it it comes up with an error message)
although i realize that this isn't a life or death situation i have been dealing with this for about a month now and it is really frustrating. it would be nice to get some help soon.
i can imagine that an experienced linux user would find this report vague but the only ways that i can check stuff out is in the wiki and forums which seems void of this but if more info is necessary let me know and i will be more than happy to post it.
thanks,
bradley.
