Gnome mistakes window closing confirmation as frozen programme.

Bug Description

In Ubuntu 6.06, when an application was closed by clicking on the "Close Window" button on the title bar and a dialogue box popped out for confirmation, Gnome would treat it as a not responding programme if the confirmation dialogue was not handled within a short timeframe (approximately 2 seconds).

Apparently this problem does not occur if the application was closed by selecting the appropriate menu bar item.

That is a bug in that application. Not in gnome.

I tried this with Firefox, gnome-terminal, GIMP, gedit, and oowriter and
they all produced the same results consistently . According to a poster
in http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=192709 this happens to
Thunderbird too.

I am suspecting it might be a bug or merely a misconfiguration in
Metacity, but I couldn't find any options to change with gconf-editor.

i didn't test it, but if it occurs i believe the responsible would be metacity.
