Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-runtime

I added support for generating (and show) Windows executables thumbnails (.exe .dll .ocx ... files) in KDE4.4 apps (konqueror, dolphin, ...) See http://reviewboard.kde.org/r/1533/. It works fine, but this module requests ubuntu package icoutils.

Now it is in kubuntu ppa kde4.4 repository for karmic (and in lucid). I tested it on kubuntu karmic with kde4.4 ppa and If I install icoutils packages it works (without recompiling, because this module only start external application from package icoutils). Without this package it doesnt work.

It is possible to add binary dependences for package kdebase-runtime (in this package is this module) to package icouils (which is needed for generating thumbnails)?

The icoutils would need to pass a Main Inclusion Review since it's currently in Universe, and packages in the "Main" component can't depend on packages in the "Universe" component.

icoutils: Simple package, well maintained in Debian, not prone to security problems (mostly a build-time tool). Approved.

I committed the fix for kdebase-runtime to the bzr repository. I added icoutils as a Recommends, meaning that installing kdebase-runtime will install icoutils by default (it'll also be included by default, etc), but that one can also not install icoutils if they so choose as it is not absolutely necessary for kdebase-runtime to function.
