openafs-modules-sources should also create a second openafs-module-2.6-<flavor> pkg

Bug Description

Hi,
After version and api of the kernel one has to rebuild
openafs-module-<version> (see wish #52786). Even
storing it in a private repository does not update the
hosts where the new kernel was installed because it's
a new pkgs.

Would be handy if openafs-modules-source would
also create a openafs-module-2.6-<flavor> pkg depending on
the built openafs-module-2.6.<whatever>-<abi> pkg (same
type as linux-headers-2.6-<flavour>).

So once openafs-module-2.6-<flavor> in installed, and
updated openafs-module-2.6-<flavor> pulls in automaticly
the new pkg openafs-module-2.6.<whatever>-<abi>.

Thank you for your bug report. Do you still have this issue with the latest stable release of Ubuntu ?

Yes, issue is still there. Running module-assistant build openafs still only creates only a

 openafs-modules-<kern-ver>-<abi>-<flavor>

deb pkgs, no pkgs without <abi> that depends on this version.
That 's with todays gutsy openafs-modules-source 1.4.4.dsfg1-4

It seems the preferred way of handling this problem these days is using dkms. If you install the openafs-modules-dkms package along with an appropriate headers metapackage (i.e. linux-headers-server or linux-headers-generic), you should never have to worry about your kernel modules falling out of date.
