Bug Description

when trying to set up a new account and going through the wizard, if I choose "Server type: microsoft exchange" then the only field I am given to fill in is Username. If I fill this in, I cannot choose "Forward".

Jie, is that a duplicate of bug #34199 or you just mention an another bug on that one? If the bugs are not the same better to not mention your other issues on that one, that's just confusing and make job harder for people looking at the bug

I don't know if these two bugs are same or not. I found these two bugs at the same time. I thought it would help to mention possibly related bugs.

I see the following error at the console:

(evolution-2.8:8421): evolution-shell-WARNING **: Cannot activate 'OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Exchange_Component:2.8': Child process did not give an error message, unknown failure occurred

If that plugin is the equivalent of launching exchange-connector-setup-2.8 manually, when I do so I get the following error:

exchange-connector-setup-2.8: error while loading shared libraries: libeutil.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Run:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/evolution/2.8/
/usr/lib/evolution/2.8/evolution-exchange-storage &

in a terminal as a workaround to start the exchange backend. Clearly this is some sort of rpath issue in the build

Rob Adams (readams-gnome) wrote :

Though the calendar backend still doesn't work using that workaround, but you can at least get mail.

That doesn't enable any additional fields in the new account wizard though.

Looks like enabling "Exchange Operation" plugin inside Evolution solves the problem.

I don't know why but this plugin is disabled by default. You may enable it by selecting "Edit/Plugins" menu entry from Evolution.

Shouldn't the "exchange" server type not be shown if exchange operations plugin is not enabled?

Also, enabling the "exchange operations" plugin did not help at all for me.
