Bug Description

Binary package hint: rootstock

6215 root 20 0 66484 19m 12m R 92 1.0 21:21.60 rootstock-gtk
20570 root 20 0 403m 313m 2760 R 71 15.8 9:57.13 qemu-system-arm

looking at code the nonblocking reading is done in an odd fashion. most likely readline cannot be used that way.

I would think probably its easiest to use glib io facility and add a io_add_watch on the stdout fd ... and using os.read to read bytes when data is available.
