Additional feature request: Allow it to be enabled/disabled depending on the content area - so it can be turned on for feedback, the wall, descriptions etc...

Doing this in such a way that we can have all the configuration options in the same place will be interesting - we may have to look at doing a rewrite of how configuration options are presented.

Also, if WYSIWYG can be turned on or off, how about going one step further, and allowing the choice to be WYSIWYG/BBCode/Plain text.

Adding additional sub-options for specific parts of Mahara, i.e. Profile, Portfolio (text boxes, blogs...), Feedback, Forums in order to allow/disallow the usage of TinyMCE more precisely.

Giving the choice between WYSIWYG, BBCode and plain text sounds great because then you can have the a) potentially crazy styled text ;-), b)some layout options and c) plain text.

I feel we are too embedded with tinymce now that this will be the only option going forward

This issue has been highlighted again as part of Steven S's screen reader testing.

I see that TinyMCE has accessibility features now: https://www.tiny.cloud/docs-3x/extras/TinyMCE3x@Accessibility/ - so we really should be working towards applying these in our implementation.
