FTBFS: crashes sparc

Bug Description

During the test suite, the build of glib2.0 crashes sparc. The specifics of the failure are that the machine is pingable, but does not respond to anything on the network, nor to the console.

The current build log is from me killing the build before it killed the buildd. If need be, we can reproduce the bug, but please do not just give it back.
