Bug Description

Binary package hint: compizconfig-backend-kconfig

The root of this problem is that installing compiz installs KDE3 libraries:

# apt-get install compiz
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  compiz-kde compizconfig-backend-kconfig kdelibs-data kdelibs4c2a libavahi-qt3-1 liblua50 liblualib50
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  compiz compiz-kde compizconfig-backend-kconfig kdelibs-data kdelibs4c2a libavahi-qt3-1 liblua50 liblualib50
0 upgraded, 8 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 17.3MB of archives.
After this operation, 57.9MB of additional disk space will be used.

compiz depends on compiz-kde which is compiled with KDE4, but also depends on compizconfig-backend-kconfig which is compiled with KDE3.

This bug is partially fixed because now in lucid compiz can be installed without installing KDE3 libraries.

However, compizconfig-backend-kconfig still depends on KDE3:

# apt-get install compizconfig-backend-kconfig
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  kdelibs-data kdelibs4c2a libavahi-qt3-1 liblua50 liblualib50
Suggested packages:

The following NEW packages will be installed
  compizconfig-backend-kconfig kdelibs-data kdelibs4c2a libavahi-qt3-1 liblua50 liblualib50

This bug was fixed in the package compizconfig-backend-kconfig - 0.9.2-0ubuntu1

---------------
compizconfig-backend-kconfig (0.9.2-0ubuntu1) natty; urgency=low

  * New upstream release: (LP: #559006)
    - Add kubuntu_01_fix_FTBFS.diff to work around an issue with upstream's
      FindCompiz cmake module.
  * Port packaging to KDE4:
    - Remove build-depend on cdbs
    - Add build-depend on pkg-kde-tools
    - Use dh short-style rules with the kde dh sequence
    - Remove build-dependency against inittool
    - Bump kdelibs4-dev build-depend to kdelibs5-dev
  * Bump debian/compat and the debhelper build-depend version to 8
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.1
  * Switch to source format 3.0 (quilt)
