renaming interrupted on event

What exactly do you mean? With Edgy (2.15.90-ubuntu1) I can rename the file when it is created with no problems.

Does it happen at any place or only on the desktop? Do you use the icon or list mode?

first this is about dapper (nautilus 2.14.3)
after you asked for the place I found out another detail:
it affects only folders(except Desktop) where already one text file is present.
and I still can see the field for changing the name for a moment before it dissapears...

ok, it has something to do with the preview and not just with another file. a file with an avaible preview must be present for this to happen.
