Bug Description

Binary package hint: notification-daemon

This bug is rather old, but I think it must be its proper Malone entry.

Immediatly after I login into GNOME, I type:

$ notify-send -u critical -t 0 "this is a title" "aaa aaa aaa bbb bbb bbb ccc ccc ccc ddd ddd ddd eee eee eee fff fff fff ggg ggg ggg hhh hhh hhh iii iii iii jjj jjj jjj"

and (as you can see in the attached screenshot) the bubble appears too down. Almost half of the bubble renders off the bottom of the screen.

However, the second (and subsequent) notifications appears ok, as you can see when I re-type the same command again:

$ notify-send -u critical -t 0 "this is a title" "aaa aaa aaa bbb bbb bbb ccc ccc ccc ddd ddd ddd eee eee eee fff fff fff ggg ggg ggg hhh hhh hhh iii iii iii jjj jjj jjj"

Maybe the proportion is not correct, because it could be better if the notification bubble appears wider than now.

The standard theme does not have the problem, as you can see in the attached screenshot. The issue is introduced with the Ubuntu theme.

is that a duplicate of bug #45656 then? no need to keep different bugs about the same issue

Bug #45656 is about wrong dimensions, and this one is about wrong position on screen. It could be related with the other, but it's a different issue, IMHO.
