Well, turns out that gaim dies on any attempt to save or open a file. Think it may be something to do with the file open dialog.

Also, just trying to confirm this bug hasn't been lost in the madness.

Err, here's another crash report that caused the crash when trying to change the display picture. "Open" kills the app.

Thanks for your bug. Apparently you have gaim 1:2.0.0+beta3-4ubuntu2, could you update to 1:2.0.0+beta3-4ubuntu3 and try again? That might be a duplicate of bug #54445 which is fixed with the new package revision

That might be difficult as ...ubuntu3 doesn't seem to be in the repos yet.

-ubuntu3 was not building, should be fixed with -ubuntu4, just give it some time to build before trying again
