Changing sounds crashes gaim

Bug Description

Simply went to the selection for changing the sound when someone says your name and hit the browse button, gaim froze for about 10sec and then crashed.

Indeed. Preferences->Sound->Choose crashes gaim (this is with 2.0.0+beta3-4ubuntu3 ).

I'm unsure how to open that sort of crash report. Can you get a backtrace as per gaim.sf.net/gdb.php? (I think more ubuntu specific info is in the ubuntu wiki somewhere)

Thanks for your bug. That might be the same issue than bug #54445, but it should be fixed with "2.0.0+beta3-4ubuntu3", do people still have the issue with gaim 2.0beta3.1? It works fine on my edgy desktop

Luke, the crash report format is a text one, it has a backtrace, a coredump and other informations too

Luke, the included is a compressed report including loads of info that can be unpacked with 'apport-unpack' (in the 'apport' package) if you are using Ubuntu ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AutomatedProblemReports ).

 I cannot reproduce this anymore, so I'm marking it as fix released.
