I have a workaround for this bug...

Play the movie clip without headphones plugged in, press the mute button, then plug in the headphones. Press the mute button again to unmute. sound will then only come through headphones.

To reverse the procedure... (must be done otherwise when you remove headphones, no sound will come through main speakers, but if you plug in the phones again, sound comes through main speakers)... press the mute button, then remove the phones then unmute, to get sound through main speakers.

This worked for me in Feisty Herd 5 on a HP Pavilion dv9297ea with Totem Movie Player.

And also with snd-hda-intel i known bug:
ALSA cant save mixer levels, and after reboot - mixer levels setting up
by default...
