Bug Description

I am running the font on various machines all of which it looks gorgeous at higher resolutions. On my netbook, a Dell Mini 10v, running Kubuntu Maverick with the latest updates, which has a lower resolution, the fonts are really ugly and looked scrunched up. I have attached a screenshot to this report for your review. I have played with the various font settings without any luck.

FYI, the fonts are running the stock/default size for the netbooks. Other fonts, such as DejaVu look fine at a lower resolution and smaller font.

first number is the size. The rest I have no darn clue.

Hi Rich - are all the other font settings the same, such as hinting and
aliasing?

There are bits of variation in the preferences requested of Freetype via the various toolkits, there's a high-level bug report (bug #621198), but also some individual symptoms (bug #617862).
