Bug Description

Binary package hint: bash

The "no such job" message is translated wrong;

daniel@c64:~$ fg
bash: fg: gegenwärtig: Kein solche Job.

Should read

daniel@c64:~$ fg
bash: fg: gegenwärtig: Kein solcher Job.

Or, in better style:

daniel@c64:~$ fg
bash: fg: gegenwärtig: Kein entsprechender Job.

Hi, Daniel!

Thank You for this bug report.
I've just retranslated and reviewed this string in the German translation within Launchpad:

from: %s: no such job
to: %s: Kein entsprechender Job.

Regards,

Dennis

As an exercise I am reporting this bug upstream and will fix it directly in Launchpad.

Oops, should have refreshed the page ... but nothing has happened yet.

Dennis, will you be reporting this bug upstream, too? I checked and the translation is still wrong in the current bash sources. I think this is important, especially for such a central package like bash.

Good work Dennis and Henning

I've added a task for the upstream project. Henning, once you've filed the bug, can you link to it there?

Thanks!

The correct translation is already in upstream, just not in the released package (yet):

http://translationproject.org/PO-files/de/bash-4.1.de.po

The translation is "Kein solcher job", so I will update the Ubuntu translation to use the same.
