EDGY Menu management: hard to move items up and down

I tried it here. It's 'Menu Layout' in English.

From what I observed, the selection doesn't disappear. The highlight is lost. But if you click on the move up /down button *a few seconds later* it does move the selected item.

So it's like, It gets locked for a few seconds after the first move up/down (during when another click would do nothing).

So, it is a bug. Can you please confirm this behaviour?

No, it's not the same for me, I've been waiting (after 2nd press) for
more than 10s. I had to select again the item to make it move

This works for me (with English menus). It's a little bit slow, but less than a second before it moves.

Still very long, even after today's uodate!! sorry

I've never been able to reproduce this bug, my up/down is nearly instant and keeps the moved item selected. Please provide more details about what you're doing.

I'm really amazed you cannot reproduce it. It happens on 2 very different PCs of mine (the others are on Dapper):
1- an old one: Duron 1.2 Ghz / 512 M
2- on my last year laptop: Toshiba Pentium Centrino M40 1.7 Ghz / 1024 M

When I go to: system/preference/"agencement menu"
I click on games for instance, then on Mines
1st click on up: fine
2nd click on up: nothing happens, but on down it moves down for once only

Then to move up or down, I need to click on Mines again and redo up or down for one shot ONLY.

If this happens on 2 different PCs of mine, (with the latest Edgy update and distribution upgrade!!) this should be the same w/ yours, the only difference between us is that I turned everything into French, so what?????

Nope, still can't reproduce. Couldn't reproduce on stock edgy either since right after I did a fresh install I was using alacarte to rearrange my menus. Starting to think something is wrong with your system. Don't know what could do this though.

Well anyway, don't you worry, I'll wait for the next one because I try to always stick to the latest version when there is no major bug remaining. Does the fact that this happens on French systems only mean something?

Even using fr_FR with alacarte I cannot reproduce this. Perhaps you click too fast and it only responses to the first click?

No I take my time. Very strange

Well let's forget it. It's ennoying just once because when my menus are organized, I don't touch it any more.

Alright, I'll just mark it as rejected to get it off my bug list.
