Bug Description

Binary package hint: rekonq

Ctrl +W is "Close tab", but when there is only one tab, it doesn't do that. It instead closes the old tab and opens a new one. This is unfortunate and not consistent with how modern browsers that people commonly use (Firefox and Chromium) behave.

i dont see an issue with this.
as example: in chromium, closing the last [or first tab, depending how you look at it] quits the application, if thats what i wanted i would have exited the program couple other ways.
the behaviour in rekonq is fine with me, so i do not consider this to be a flaw.
my rationale: ctrl-w shouldnt close the application, so when all other tabs are terminated, home should always remain. makes sense to me

ctrl-w closes a window. I don't see why the number of remaining windows is relevant. If the user specifically says they want a window closed, to do something else is user hostile (typed into my Chromium browser session, because right now it's enough of a better browser to offset it's lack of integration with the workspace).

Actually Ctrl + W close a tab, but, this was a upstream decision to not close the window if there is only one tab remaining and to use Ctrl + Q to quit the application, this was discussed with upstream and they are going to stick to this behaviour. Marking as Won't Fix

Changed in rekonq (Ubuntu):
status: New → Won't Fix
