Bug Description

After installing this package, there are some few errors complaining about failed spamassassin header tests, such as:

===============================
Jan 3 12:41:40 www spamd[21369]: Failed to run header SpamAssassin tests, skipping some: Global symbol "@Mail" requires explicit package name at /usr/share/spamassassin/20_mailer-tests.cf, rule X_MAILER_SPAM, line 1.
===============================

In /usr/share/spamassassin/20_mailer-tests.cf, there is indeed a line:

header X_MAILER_SPAM X-Mailer =~ /(GpsMailer|......|Douhou@Mail|....)/

Is this still a problem with Dapper/Edgy?

The problem does not exist in Dapper, so probably this bug can be closed. Haven't checked about Edgy though.

I've found same problem on 6.06.1 server. Log says;
======================
Jan 17 23:04:49 www spamd[29751]: Possible unintended interpolation of @Mail in string at /usr/share/
spamassassin/20_mailer-tests.cf, rule X_MAILER_SPAM, line 1.

ail" requires explicit package name at /usr/share/spamassassin/20_mailer-tests.cf, rule X_MAILER_SPAM
, line 1.
======================
Where the package came from ? Let's see... apt-cache policy result.

Do exist in dapper.

Solution.
Please try to change `Douhou@Mail' to `Douhou\@Mail` and see.
Upstream maintainer , Taku Yasui has already noticed the problem and fixed it.

Hope this helps,

FTR, just ran into this on Feisty. Escaping the @ in Douhou@Mail so you get Douhou\@Mail makes the problem go away.

WRT to Taku Yasui already having this fixed, it seems that fix is already two years old ...
I'd say it's time for a fixed package.

spamassassin-rules-ja (9ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * spamassassin/20_mailer-tests.cf: escape unwilling "@" in test regexp. (LP: #6378)
  * Modify Maintainer value to match the DebianMaintainerField specification.
