Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

When i plug my iPod video (5g) in, amarok detects it, but doesn't realise that it is an iPod. So i have to go to removable media preferneces and select Apple iPod from the list. When i click on OK or Apply, amarok closes and Kmail opens, telling me to send the attached email to <email address hidden> with the subject "1.4.3 [___stripped][validity: 0.83][frames: 193][xine]" sans quotes.

If you are using libgpod 0.3.2-1-1build1 you must have something in $(IPOD_MOUNT_POINT)/iPod_Control/Device/SysInfo ... aka, it cannot be empty. Today, on edgy, we are still using libgpod 0.3.2-1-1build1.

If libgpod (>= 0.4) is included into edgy, then the empty SysInfo problem will no longer apply.

You will often get an empty SysInfo file when upgrading your iPod's firmware to 1.2.x.

(Please correct me if I am wrong, no garantee that the attached example SysInfo file will work for you, or that it won't break you iPod... aka, I'm not responsible for any damages incurred :D )
