Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdepim

I am running Edgy with korganizer 4:3.5.4-0ubuntu5.

When adding a new To-do, I am offered 2 identical resources entries "Default KOrganizer resource".

No matter what I do, any new to-do entry will then be shown twice at the "To-do List" view.

I can confirm this. KOrganizer shows duplicate "Default KOrganizer resource" entries.

I can confirm this also, on Kubuntu Edgy RC i386.

Add new task, click Apply -> get dialog box "Resource Selection - Kontact" with 2 choices, both say "Default KOrganizer resource". Task gets added twice. Same thing happens with new Calendar entry.

Problem only occurs on my Edgy i386 installation on a laptop. Don't see it with Edgy AMD64 on desktop.

Same problem for me. Edgy Laptop install. Deleting the duplicates causes problems as well. Such as randomly deleting to dos

I think I may have a fix/ workaround.

System Settings > Advanced > KDE resources > Calendar.

Delete one of the resources.

For GNOME users "System Settings > Advanced > KDE resources > Calendar" is not available. Instead open Kontact, click on Calendar to display the calendar view, go to Settings > Sidebar and make sure Show Resource View is selected. Then you should see the Calendar Resources on the left sidebar with two Default KOrganizer resource entries. Delete the second one and this should fix the duplicate to-do problem.

I beg to differ. It is most definitely a bug. I experienced the same, and a thing like this should not happen by its own. I've never touched the "KDE Ressources"-Settings and - non-the-less - ended up with these double-entries after my recent upgrade to KDE 4.

As an additional information: I followed the advice and removed one of the Calendar resources. Now kontact crashes everytime i try to open it

KOrganizer is being rewritten for KDE 4.4, so KDE is not pursuing bug reports for older versions any more. There is a good chance that the buggy behavior won't pop up in the rewrite, however. :)
Thanks for understanding.

Whoops, KAddressBook was getting the rewrite, not KOrganizer.
Is this still an issue in KDE 4.3, though?
